Washdown Motor Repair
Most washdown motors that come into our shop failed the same way: water and cleaning chemicals got past a seal and reached the bearings or windings. We repair the damage, replace bearings and seals, rewind when needed, and test the motor before it goes back into service.
When a washdown motor’s housing or seals are too compromised to restore its protection rating reliably, we will tell you, and quote a new motor that matches the original specifications instead.
Matching IP Ratings and Specifications
A replacement motor in a food plant has to match more than horsepower and voltage. We source new motors to the same specifications as the original, including:
- IP rating (ingress protection against dust and water)
- Enclosure type, such as TENV or TEFC
- Housing material and finish, such as stainless steel or white epoxy
- Frame size, mounting and shaft dimensions
- Voltage, speed and inverter duty rating
